Lost (Hikaru)

Hikaru held her map upside down trying to figure out how she had gotten turned around. As she though she found where she had turned the wrong direction, all the ink on the map disappeared! How odd, maybe there was some magic at work. When she looked up she saw beautiful trees flecked in blue, instead of green, a roaring waterfall in the distance, and a never-ending field of lilacs and wildflowers. A tell-tale path lead to the waterfall, it was cracked and grass was growing between the cracks.

Hikaru stared at her now blank map and then back to the strangely beautiful forest. After taking it all in she folded the used to be map and put it away in a pocket in her jean shorts. "I can't believe how pretty this place is the trees are quite uniqu she says to herself as she walks calmly down the cracked path to the waterfall

As Hikaru got closer to the waterfall, she noticed that the waterfall seemed to freeze partially halfway down. It was like it was raining ice crystals. Yet, all around the pond under the waterfall, plants still grew naturally. It was as if they didn't even notice the cold of the pond.

"a partially frozen waterfall and blue trees... this place gets even more strange with each passing minute yet i find it along with it's frozen waterfall oddly calming and enchanting " Hkaru says as she admired the cool water

The waterfall shimmered. A layer of frost covered the deep water. It seemed as if was just thin enough for her to slide into the water... It was inviting, the pond almost called "Join me..."

Hikaru stared at the pond and soon became...almost entranced by it she decided to get ino the water it seemed to call to her drawing her in, the frost didn't seem to be too thick and ontop of it all being an ice demon the cold wouldn't bother her a bit

As Hikaru slid into the icy water the ice floated around her making her bodies impression in the ice the only disturbance. Suddenly, there was a crack in the ice! Orchids and blond hair popped through the ice and inquisitive eyes looked at her with curiosity.



"Hello there..." The blond woman said with her head tipped.

Startled Hikaru jumped back slightly "Ah! um hello there? who..are you?" Hikaru asked the curious blonde while growing more slightly more curious herself

"I am the keeper of the lake, I have no name." She said with a smile. "We mermaids tend to not have names if we are given an important job."

"I see....you are the keeper of the lake then..." Hikaru said quietly while stopping to think "wait if you are this ponds keeper...does that mean..that you can tell me where this place is?"

"Yes I can, this is a place where your dreams come true and your life takes on a happier meaning." She said brightly. "This place is on no known map and has a power all on its own. One can only find it if you truly need guidance in you life." Something about the way she said it made Hikaru shiver. Like this place would change who she was as a person.

"Dreams and guidance...?" Hikaru aksed "But I really don't have any dreams I'm persuing I simply travel from one place to another once I've had enough of a place..."

"Hmmm? Well there must be something. I mean, you are here." She said raising a perfect eyebrow.

Hikaru thought for a while "Hmm..." she said finally "I suppose I do need guidance seeing as how I was lost before I got here and if I had any dream at all i suppose it would be to fit in somewhere"

The woman looked at Hikaru thoughtfully. "I suppose thats why your here. Perhaps I can give you some guidance as to where you fit in."

Hikaru was curious now "is there somewhere?" she asked the woman "just where would it be?"

"There is, its to the north. A colony of Ice demons." She looked up putting a finger on her lips as if thinking. "I think you could lean a lot there."

"A northern colony huh? I suppose that would be a good place to go" Hikaru smiled slightly in thought then she turned her gaze to the woman where her smile faded quickly "I dont recall ever mentioning the fact I am an ice demon"

"Hm? Oh you didn't" She smiled and winked.

"Then what else do you know about me? you seem to know even what I dont tell you" Hikaru said keeping her gaze on the blonde

"I know a lot about you Hikaru. A lot more than you would think."

"So it seems...." Hikaru said quietly "This place is really quite strange and beautiful but i don't like to stay in one place to long so..how do i get from a place on no map to the north?"

The woman disappeared beneath the surface and came back up with something in her hand. She handed it to Hikaru. I was a map, encased in some sort of magical spell to keep it dry. "Nothing can destroy this map."

"Nothing can destroy it?" Hikaru repetead the womans last scentence in the form of a question

"Nope, nothing." She though a moment then looked back at the paper. "Whenever you get lost, just call for the ice map. It will take you wherever you want to go."
